Authentication

None. There are no keys, no accounts and no protected areas.

Versioning

Search is versioned under /v1/; /ask is the NLWeb standard path for the same interface. An incompatible change would get /v2/, and /v1/ would stay available for at least six months. Anything being retired is announced in responses with "Deprecation" and "Sunset" headers.

Errors

Errors come back as JSON with a code, an explanation and a hint:

Rights

Allowed: fetching individual pages on behalf of a person, summarising them and linking to them — for example to answer questions or to make contact.
Not allowed: text and data mining and training AI models on the content of this website (reservation under Section 44b(3) of the German Copyright Act, see legal notice).
The photographs are protected by copyright. Any use requires prior written permission.
